St. Patrick's Day Parade Run FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: How long is the St. Patrick's Day Parade Run?
A: The run is 5 miles long. That's just over 8 kilometers.

Q: What time does the run begin?
A: 9 a.m.

Q: Didn't this run have competitive and non-competitive divisions?
A: For years, we have distinguished between the two categories. Now all runners who registered by March 6 receive a bib number with a timing chip affixed. All runners who finish with a chipped number are eligible to qualify for a prize. The chip does not need to be returned. As always, we welcome runners of all skill and experience levels.

Q: Where can I find race results, after the run?
A: You can find the results on the main run page. Note that only runners who wear the bibs with timing chips affixed to them will have their times recorded and published.

Q: How old must I be to participate in the run?
A: Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome. Please note that streets will reopen after the bulk of the pack has passed, so slower runners may be asked to make their way to the sidewalks. Prizes are awarded for males and females in categories from ages 14 and under through 70 and over.

Q: Do you allow walking, jogging strollers, and/or pets?
A:
Walking participants and jogging strollers are allowed in the run; however, we ask that you be considerate of the other runners. Please, for the safety of yourselves and your children, we ask that you start near the back of the pack. Remember that streets will re-open to traffic once the running pack has passed, so you will likely be asked to use the sidewalk after a while. Pets are not allowed in the run.

Q: Where is the T-shirt pick-up?
A: [2011 information] Starting March 7, you may bring your runner's bib to our In-Person Registration and Pick-Up Locations to claim your shirt. The Michelob ULTRA St. Pat's Run Performance T-shirts will be issued to the first 14,000 registrants. Please note: You must present the actual runner's bib – the 7.5” square placard which displays your run number – to get your T-shirt. You can pick up a shirt for a friend, so long as you have the runner's bib to present. You can pick up as many shirts as runner's bibs presented. The location will not have a record of any runner's preferred size.

Or, you may pick it up your shirt near the run registration at Broadway & Poplar, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the run, while supplies last. Shirts may be available at the Runners' Village after the run. Contact us for details on how to pick up your shirt during the weeks after the run, if you don't receive one beforehand.

The T-shirt pick-up locations will also be conducting in-person registration at the same times. You can register to get your bib number and shirt (while supplies last) simultaneously.

Q: Where do I attach my timing chip?
A: Your chip will come affixed to your bib number. You need only to pin the number to the front of your shirt. Nothing needs to be returned.

Q. Who do I contact with further questions?
A. Contact us via email or call the run office.

Q: What prizes are awarded?
A: The top 10 finishers in each division will receive medals or ribbons.

Q: Has the St. Patrick's Day Parade Run ever been cancelled?
A: No. In extremely bad weather, we might make the run a non-competitive event, for the safety of all runners. This happened in 2000; in that case, prizes were awarded by lottery.

Q: How long has this event existed?
A: We are pleased to announce that this is our 33rd year!

Q: Where should I park on run day?
A: Runners are encouraged to take MetroLink to the Busch Stadium stop – just steps from the start line. If you choose to drive, parking south and east of the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark may be your best bet. Consult our Run Route page, for additional information.
