Parade Committee makes donation to Backstoppers

Also accepting the check on behalf of the Backstoppers is Chief Sherman George, Fire Chief, St. Louis Fire Department. Each year the Metropolitan St. Patrick's Day Parade and Run Committee, itself a 501-C-3 not-for-profit organization makes a donation to another deserving St. Louis charity. This year the Backstoppers were chosen not only because of its support of St. Louis police and firemen who died in the line of duty but as recognition for the support the police and fire department play in putting on the parade and run each year. The 2007 St. Patrick's Day Parade and Run in downtown St. Louis will take place on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17.
