JOSEPH P. MCGLYNN, JR. NAMED TO
“IRISH LEGAL 100”

Joseph B. McGlynn, Jr., a partner in the St. Louis law firm of Kortenhaf & McGlynn, has been named by the Irish Voice Newspaper and Irish America Magazine to the second annual “Irish Legal 100.” The list is a compilation of the most distinguished and accomplished lawyers of Irish descent in America. The awards ceremony was held in the Washington, D.C. home of Michael Collins, Irish Ambassador to the United States.

The Irish Legal 100 recognizes lawyers from around the country who share a passion for the law and pride in their Irish heritage. McGlynn, founded the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in St. Louis 40 years ago and is the Honorary Irish Consul for St. Louis. He earned his law degree from St. Louis University and has been practicing law in St. Louis for 51 years.

His ties to Ireland and the Catholic Church are reflected through a multitude of charitable and social activities including serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, past President of Notre Dame Club of St. Louis, past National President of Notre Dame Alumni Association, served on the University of Notre Dame Board of Trustees, was past National Legal Counsel for Ancient Order of Hibernians, was former Trustee for University of Galway Education Fund in United States, served on the Board of Directors of St. Patrick Center, a non-profit homelessness agency with a $5 million annual operating budget, was national legal counsel for Tyrone Irish Crystal Company, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Fontbonne University.

His prior law firm affiliations were with McGlynn & Luther, P.C. and McGlynn & McGlynn, P.C.

The “Irish Legal 100” is the latest in the list of achievement awards that from The Irish Voice and Irish America Magazine which are read by more than 250,000 people. Other achievement awards are “The Top 100 Irish Americans,” “Wall Street 50,” and “Business 100.”
