St. Patrick's Day Parade
The Parade Award Recipients list for the 2008 Parade is available for viewing. Congratulations to all award recipients!
The 2009 St. Patrick's Day Parade in St. Louis, the 40th annual, will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 12:00 noon, in Downtown St. Louis. The Parade takes place "rain or shine". It will begin at 18th and Market Streets, and proceed east to its conclusion at Broadway and Market Streets. We encourage you to visit the Parade Route page for additional details.
Regularly noted as one of the top in the country, the Parade will be comprised of over 120 units, including marching bands, floats, huge cartoon-character balloons, 5000+ marchers, and lots of clowns. Over 250,000 spectators, the largest of any event in Downtown St. Louis, are expected to attend, packing the streets with smiling Irish eyes and festive green attire..
This year, we will celebrate our 40th annual Parade. We will welcome distinguished guests from Ireland, and from around the United States.
Our guests will join Hon. Francis Slay, Mayor of St. Louis, other local and regional officials, and the Parade's General Chairman in leading this year's Parade.
Food and drink will be sold at numerous locations along the parade route. Many of the booths will serve soft drinks, hot dogs, burgers, bratwurst, and beer, along with other snacks and novelties. In addition, visit the Irish Village, at Kiener Plaza, or the Party at the Start, at Aloe Plaza, for food, fun, and entertainment all day long.
Additional information on the Parade is available by viewing the Parade Route. If you have Parade questions, feel free to contact us.
